Open Thread: Your Least Favorite Xmas Song?

The Christmas season is such a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I absolutely love getting to see family and giving gifts to those I love. But on the other hand, it makes going to post office a nightmare, it can sometimes bring out the really ugly, greedy side of people, and worst of all, it means I have to hear Christmas music for a month. I hate Christmas music. Not all of it, mind you. But most of it.

Call me a grouch, I really don't care, but I suspect I am also not alone in this feeling. So go ahead. Have at it. Tell me what Christmas song absolutely drives you up the wall. I'm going to put mine forth as a toss-up between Wings' "Wonderful Christmastime" and that stupid "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" song. You?

Watch it just for a glimpse of the legendary John Peel. Anyway, Slade's Merry Christmas Everyone gets dragged out every bloody year in the UK. Even after living abroad for the past 20 years, it's pretty much the only thing I don't get nostalgic about.
(CROP was great btw, thanks again).

That must be Wham's "Last Christmas". From the moment the first notes of that song reaches my ears, I feel the need to pick something up an throw it!

U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

Its not so much the song, which would be great aside from the backup vocals consisting of CHRISTMAS-CHRISTMASSSSSS-CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS.

I'm not a fan of any cheesy Christmas songs, BUT Christmas Shoes has to be the worst. Patton Oswalt really sums up the issues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq10bz3PxyY

Any christmas song performed by Alvin and the chipmunks. I'm so sick of hearing that shit. Ha ha.

Any seasonal song remixed to house or trance. The last thing I need is an X flashback in Sears with a Holly Jolly Burl Ives stuttering and thumping in my ears.

Wonderful Christmastime is the BEST Xmas song! Those synths! No holiday would be complete without it...

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"...in fact, anything that mentions bells, reindeer, snow and/or snowmen, sleighs, Santa and open fires. That just about covers it.

"Do they know it's Christmas" by Band Aid 20 deserves a dishonourable mention...total self-indulgent crap.

My personal peeve is that "Santa Baby" song that is required to be sung by some woman in a baby voice with really cheezy innuendo lyrics like "C'mon down the chimney to me".

And for you xmas haters out there- never forget about 80's punk rock icons FEAR's single "F*ck Christmas" (the preview on iTunes isn't edited or beeped out, so you can get your fill there for free).
