Cool, Short Alan Wilder Interview

Via dmdotcom

I know I said I wasn't going to post anything else this week, but I hadn't seen this posted anywhere else.  A short interview with Alan Wilder about him recently joining Depeche Mode on stage....

Very cool! but.. ummm... what song did they perform? I must have missed it. Would have been nice to hear it as well but I expect they will leave that for the next limited edition ep or DVD compilation. Yeah I was being bitchy! I am allowed, I think I have every 12 inch and cd single from day 1. Thanks for posting it and I will be shameful now and point out my version I have recently done of New Life! Mega Synth Remake!

I hope you enjoy it! I know Tom is a big DM fan and might get something out of it.

Thanks for the link Fractured! Maybe Alan will take on a production role and resurrect some of DM's original sound.

I highly doubt alan will ever return to the to the DM fold in a member or producer capacity - I'd love to be proved worng on this, I just don't see it happening. However, it did seem like some really good positive closure for all parties involved, as there was always this air of bitterness that seemed to come out of both camps. It's nice to see Alan, in the couple interviews I've watched since this, express the happiness that came out of the experience. I did think it was fitting that Dave was the one who institgating the whole thing. I remember reading an interview a while back (I think around the time of Playing the Angel) where he thought the band hadn't been the same since Alan left.

Who knows - maybe this will at least lead to some remix work from alan or something...
